SLAVERY ENDED IN THE U.S.A. IN 1865 - BUT WOMEN WORLD-WIDE ARE STILL SLAVES

Slave Punishment: Wilson Chinn, a freed slave from Louisiana, poses with equipment used to punish slaves. Such images fueled Northern resolve against slaveholders during the American Civil War (photographed in 1863). The 13th amendment,
Passed by the U.S. Congress
On January 31, 1865
And ratified on December 6, 1865,
Ended legal slavery in America.

But girls and women around the world
Are still held and treated as slaves.

What are we going to do about it ?

Silence implies consent.

If you do nothing, say nothing,
You are guilty.

Point of No Return: This monument, along the "Road of the Slaves" in the West-African country of Benin, commemorates the countless Africans who were kidnapped and sold as slaves between the 16th and 19th centuries.
