When I was a reporter at The Lakeshore News and Chronicle in Montreal in the early 1980's, my editor, Jeannette Burley Tremblay, started removing my by-line from some of my best articles.
I asked her why.
Tremblay said I was writing so many articles that it would appear I was writing the whole paper. So she would have it appear that my articles were written by "the staff."
Now that I am my own publisher as a blogger, nobody steals my by-line.

And 189 articles at The Crimes of Dawn McSweeney and the Montreal Police at http://dawnmcsweeney.blogspot.com,
Almost 68,000 people around the globe have read my reports.
