TO WAR OR NOT TO WAR ? SYRIA AND BEYOND.

Many years ago,
My friend, Dr. Maurice Schwartz of Montreal told me,
"There are always more than two choices."

After George W. Bush's self-serving claim that there were weapons of mass destruction in Iraq, American politicians are reluctant to intervene in Syria, even now that there are claims that poison gas is being used against civilians there.

If there is evidence that one side or the other in Syria is using nerve gas, what should the U.S. do? Who should the American people be supporting in another war ?

On one side, we see the tyranny of Bashar Al-Assad. On the other a mess of factions including Islamic extremists and who knows what else.

If the US. intervenes, either alone or with international partners, someone will be spitting in your faces anyway. There are no "good guys in white hats" the west can count on in Syria. They will hate you no matter what you do. Damned if you do; Damned if you don't.

Is there a third choice, a fourth ?
