GAY MARRIAGE - THE BIG LIE

When I was young, "gay" meant happy.

I don't think being homosexual or lesbian is a condition one should call "happy". It is a tough life. People who are homosexual or lesbian are confronted by many challenges that most of us never have to face. I doubt anyone would willingly choose to be homosexual or lesbian.

I believe the condition is innate, something latent one is born with, just as some people will have brown eyes and others, blue. As far as I know, science has not yet found a "homosexual gene", but there is so much science has not yet discovered or understood.

But, about the "Big Lie" :

There are people making a whole brouhaha, claiming that, if homosexual marriage is allowed, the institution of "normal marriage" would be damaged. How?

No one explains how, if homosexual and lesbian people were allowed to marry each other, that would have any effect on what others do. If you are not homosexual or lesbian, and you do not want to marry someone who is, JUST DON'T !

What has the marriage of someone else got to do with your marriage? The accusation is a farce - a big lie promoted and perpetuated by right-wing fanatics who elect themselves to speak for God. They are not concerned with what God wants. They just want more power for themselves over the lives of others. They make themselves gods.

However, my concern is this:

Does being raised by homosexual or lesbian parents harm children? Is there any credible evidence - from reliable, non-bigoted sources - that shows that children of such relationships are more likely to be damaged, hurt and abused than the children of traditional marriages, or that "normal" children raised by homosexual or lesbian parents become homosexual or lesbian?
