THOSE WHO FORGET THE PAST ARE DOOMED TO REPEAT IT

Sir Winston Churchill said it.

Edmond Burke said it.

George Santayana said it.

And now I say it.

Those who forget, or ignore,
The experiences of the past,
Are doomed to repeat them,
And suffer the consequences.

Yes. It can happen here.

History proves that
No one is immune.

The Germans paid dearly for their crimes.

Think about that when you go to vote.

Santayana's famous aphorism "Those who cannot remember the past are condemned to repeat it" is inscribed on a plaque at the Auschwitz concentration camp in Polish translation and English back-translation (above), and on a subway placard in Germany.
