The American Civil War Continues
Funny, and yet, tragic,
How millions of people
Accept platitudes and dogma
Without thinking.
Everyone speaks of
"The United States of America" -
When, in fact,
The American States are not at all "united" -
Except - for the most part -
Geographically
Anyone watching the news day after day,
Anyone with normal intelligence,
Can see that the Confederacy -
Under the guise of the Republican Party -
Is still hell-bent on reviving the "olde south".
Slavery might not look the same
In the 21st Century,
As it did in the 1800's,
But the Confederates are still determined
To put the masters back in the mansions -
And the slaves back in the fields and factories.
Wake up America !
The enemy is within.
