Because western law is based on the New Testament which tells us to forgive and forgive and forgive - "Seventy times seven times" - which means forever.
Stop forgiving criminals ! Stop making excuses - :temporary insanity", statutes of limitation - all the breaks we give criminals. Start protecting the innocent.
What politician will have the courage to say, "Enough !"
The fact is our laws are designed to serve lawyers ... to keep them employed and earning huge incomes and perks.
And who are the lawyers? Not just the barristers and solicitors and advocates - but also the judges and justices - and most politicians.
So who is going to change the laws to make them protect the innocent and avenge the victims ?
