THE POWER OF ONE DECENT PERSON

Muzoon Almellehan fled Syria carrying only a bag filled with books. At the refugee camp in Jordan, she campaigned for girls' education and educated parents on the dangers of child marriage. Muzoon recently settled in Britain with her family and looks forward to working with Malala to inspire more girls to stand up for their rights.
"The most important thing in your life is to get an education," said Muzoon. "Education can be a weapon to escape."
Muzoon Almellehan has been called the "Malala of Syria" for her crusade to keep girls in school.
