Why do men beat women?
It is because they have no respect for them. It isn't just about education. It is about ingrained attitude. They cherish their power to enslave the "weaker sex". They abuse animals too.
Abusers do not change their stripes. It is the women who must take the action - and leave and stay away. But here again, it is about ingrained attitude. "But I love him !" she says as he kicks her and spits on her and puts out his cigarettes on her body. We see it again and again.
It must be a felony with severe punishment to get it to stop and, in countries where women are spat upon, the government and the mosques and the families of the men promote and enforce the abuse.
